In 1531 the Mother of God appeared to St. Juan Diego at Tepeyac Hill.
“I am the Virgin Mary, Mother of the one true God, of Him who gives life. He is Lord and Creator of heaven and of earth. I desire… to manifest Him, make Him known, give Him to all people through my love, my compassion, my help, and my protection. I truly am your merciful Mother, your Mother and the Mother of… all mankind, of all those who love me, those who cry to me, and those who seek and place their trust in me …I shall listen to their weeping and their sorrows. I shall take them all to my heart, and shall cure their many sufferings, afflictions, and sorrows.”
“Am I not here, who am your Mother?”
“Are you not under my shadow and protection?”
“Am I not the fountain of your joy?”
Someday “an American oasis of hospitality at Lourdes,” our home-away-from-home and our future office in France for Lourdes Volunteers will open.
Please pray with us during this time of Advent for Guadalupe House.
This Sunday the rose candle is lit in our Advent Wreath. Joy! This is the time for JOY because Christ is near… Christmas is coming, hurry to be ready. The Fountain of Joy is nearing the time to spring forth for us.
The Feasts of the Immaculate Conception and Our Lady of Guadalupe place the Mother of God near the Manger.
Oh Mary, Our Mother and Fountain of Joy, please prepare us and fill our hearts with JOY for the coming of Our Lord Jesus this Christmastime!
