2021 Pilgrimage Schedule

In 1858, the Mother of God appeared to a young girl named Bernadette Soubirous eighteen times, requesting that she pray, to uncover a spring of water, to build a chapel and to come in procession. Since then, thousands of scientifically documented cures and countless healings and conversions have occurred. Six million pilgrims from all over the world now visit the Grotto each year.

The purpose of pilgrimage is to grow in faith while on a spiritual journey to a holy place. The experience of pilgrimage reminds us we are in exile in this life, created to be with God for eternity. Pilgrimage allows for time from the demands of our everyday life to seek God, meeting Him in each person and embracing opportunities to grow in holiness.

Pilgrimage travel to Lourdes, France has been postponed until further notice. We hope and pray to return to the Grotto as soon as travel restrictions are eased and pilgrimages can be safely resumed. Please click here to read important updates due to Coronovirus.
